Max Klare drops catch on fourth down
Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin looks to have picked up the first down on fourth-and-1 when he finds Max Klare open across the middle of the field, but the Purdue tight end transfer can't hold onto the ball. A costly drop by Klare gives Texas and Arch Manning the ball back at their own 49-yard line.
Both teams defenses coming up big early in this one.
Ohio State gets fourth down stop
Fool me once, don't fool me twice — right?
Regardless if that catchphrase is correct or not, Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia dials up the pressure on fourth-and-2 and gets the stop as the Buckeyes' defense stuffs Texas running back CJ Baxter at the line for just a gain of 1-yard. Big bounce back from Ohio State after not being able to get the previous fourth downs top.
Buckeyes take over at their own 42-yard line.
